About Ananya
I achieved my IB diploma in 2020 with a 7 in English and a 6 in History and Economics. I am currently a 4th year undergraduate Economics and Commerce student studying at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver) with a 3.8 GPA.
Additionally, I have international educational experience as I have lived in 6 countries; therefore, I can work with diverse individuals and their curriculums. Being a young student myself, I understand the education system with updated technologies, thus tutoring to meet the current demands.

I believe that all students learn differently, and if you are looking for a tutor who recognizes your style, realizes your difficulties, and makes learning fun, you have come to the right place!
I style my teaching techniques according to the student and their age. Some prefer textbook learning, while others prefer games. For example, I use educational games such as Kahoot as they foster social and emotional learning, engaging the students more with the subject. I also like to make quizlets for students, as they promote active recall, which is necessary for heavy content courses. Further, I incorporate cooperative learning, whereby I prepare for classes beforehand based on the course material and ask some related questions to the student to get an idea about their understanding of class concepts and where they are facing difficulties. Therefore, my typical lesson plan is as follows:
1. Review previous week's/class's concepts.
2. Go over new class concepts and set an hourly schedule, such as revisiting the difficult subject material.
3. Look over assignments (HW, essays, etc.) together and complete the work due together.
4. Prepare quizlets/Kahoots based on class material to stimulate learning further.
What sets me apart from other tutors is my passion for sharing knowledge and, in return, learning different things from others. I believe in helping students gain self-confidence and believe in themselves to recognize their potential.

Perfect! My first session with Ananya went well. She took the time to make sure I understood the concepts and formulas and when I made a mistake she helped me understand the error and guided me through the correct ways toward the solution.
