About Timothy
Hi, I’m Tim, a student currently pursuing a double major in Business Administration and Geographic Information Science at University at Buffalo. I specialize in tutoring Geography and Math at the secondary level, with a strong grasp of concepts from my H2 Geography, H2 Math background and current university studies. I’m known to be patient, clear in explanations, and focused on helping students not just memorize, but truly understand how to apply what they learn. My lessons are engaging, structured, and tailored to each student’s pace and needs whether aiming to catch up or stretch towards an A. Outside of academia, I powerlift and play football regularly, my sports background allows me to create an amiable and engaging environment with all types of students.

When I was little, I dreaded math very much. It felt absolutely daunting seeing all the questions—tedious and methodical I figured, but the moment I had my grasp on a particular topic (calculus that being), my drive to know more has never stopped. Just like my curiosity about the physical world around me, I was dwelling into the world of algebra (trust me, it is as complex as it gets), and it gave me to drive to pass down my knowledge to students I teach!
I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to suit your pace, strengths, and confidence level. My approach isn’t just about drilling content, but to help you understand concepts clearly, apply them in exams, and feel more in control of your learning.
Whether you’re struggling to catch up or aiming to improve from a B to an A, I’ll break things down simply, support you patiently, and guide you with practical exam tips and feedback.
I’ve taught students from Primary to JC level (N/O/A-Levels/IB/SAT/ACT), and I bring the discipline from my background and the adaptability from my own academic journey.
I focus on results, but I also care about the student’s mindset, because confidence is the first step to improvement.
I struggled with certain subjects back in school too, so I understand how stressful it can feel. That’s why I focus on building strong basics and small wins.
