About Jake
Hi, my name is Jake! I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California-Santa Barbara, making the Dean's List. In addition, I was a Physics Tutor for my college's Campus Learning Assistance Services. I have learned the principles of physics and mathematics inside and out in both a classroom and a practical setting. Through my tutoring experience, I have learned what techniques and skills help students the most. Every student has unique needs and ways of learning, and I am an expert at patiently supporting all students. In my personal life, I enjoy making music, playing guitar, playing basketball, football, baseball, and ping pong.

1. I use the screen-sharing function on Zoom to teach my lessons. This way I can show students step-by-step how I solve mathematical problems.
2. I encourage students to ask questions, and will patiently respond to their individual needs until they fully understand the material.
3. I encourage students to bring materials from their class, including notes, homework, practice tests, and lecture slides. We will be working through class problems during our sessions.
3. Finally, to test students' understanding I will provide practice quiz questions for students. This is a helpful tool to identify which specific subject matter is not being understood.

Jake is super smart and an awesome tutor for SAT prep.
I highly recommend Jake as a physics and math tutor. He has a lot of experience tutoring physics and it shows. He was able to break down concepts to make them easier to understand.
Jake clearly has a deep and thorough understanding of physics and is able to thoughtfully explain concepts in a way that makes it easy to learn! I would highly recommend him to anyone that’s struggling.
As a superprof myself, Jake is an incredible physics tutor. He is patient, kind, and is incredibly intelligent. Jake is so helpful in a multitude of subjects, specifically Math, Physics, and also essay writing. Jake will tailor lessons to meet an individual's needs and also make the lesson fun. He is professional and is a great selection.
