About Connor
I am a dedicated and enthusiastic Science tutor with a strong academic background and proven teaching experience in both the UK and abroad. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Medical Science and am currently completing an MSc in Nanotechnology & Regenerative Medicine at University College London (UCL), where I am achieving a distinction average. My teaching experience includes over three years as a Science and English teacher in secondary schools, where I supported students aged 12–18 to reach and often exceed their academic goals. I have also worked within scientific and healthcare environments, giving me a real-world understanding of how the subjects I teach are applied beyond the classroom. Students describe my lessons as clear, supportive, and engaging. I take time to understand each learner’s needs and learning style, then tailor lessons to build confidence and independence. My approach focuses on explaining complex ideas in simple terms, using examples and questions that make science relevant and memorable. I take pride in being reliable, organised, and approachable. My tutoring style is student-centred, patient, and highly adaptable. I focus on identifying each learner’s strengths and areas for improvement, then tailoring lessons to build confidence, understanding, and exam technique. Lessons are typically 60 minutes long and combine concept teaching, discussion, and problem-solving. I encourage students to think critically, explain their reasoning, and develop independent learning skills helping them not just memorise facts, but truly understand how and why things work.
