About Shaun
I am a UCD medical student with a strong academic background, including high achievement in Biology and Mathematics at Leaving Cert level. I began tutoring Mathematics at the age of 13, which has given me years of experience in explaining concepts clearly and adapting my teaching to different learning styles.
Having successfully navigated the demands of competitive exams, I understand both the academic content and the strategies required to perform well under pressure.
I am passionate about teaching and helping students build both confidence and understanding in subjects that can often feel overwhelming. My goal is not only to improve grades, but to help students develop effective study habits and a deeper understanding of the material. I take a patient, supportive and approachable teaching style, and I am committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and actively engaging in lessons.

I offer structured, exam-focused lessons in Biology, Math and Physiology tailored to Leaving Cert students. As a UCD medical student, I emphasize strong conceptual understanding alongside exam technique, helping students not only understand content but apply it effectively under exam conditions.
Each lesson typically lasts 60–90 minutes and is personalized to the student’s needs. I begin by identifying weak areas, then break down complex topics into simple, manageable concepts using clear explanations, diagrams and active recall techniques. We then reinforce learning through exam-style questions and past paper practice.
My teaching style is supportive and interactive, encouraging students to ask questions and build confidence. Lessons are suitable for students of all abilities, whether aiming to improve grades or achieve top marks.
