About Erin
I am an upper year Bachelor's student in International Economics at the University of British Columbia. I have experience in private tutoring for elementary and secondary school students and also coaching for youth activities (skiing and dance), which has given me an enthusiastic approach to teaching.

My teaching style is adaptive to each student. As a tutor, it is my role to help clarify concepts that the student may be struggling in. I believe it is important to start a session by reviewing what the student does know to then understand where we need to put extra effort. In economics, practice is the best approach, so I try to work through problems and act as 'training wheels' to help students along the way. With this approach, they will be more able to concrete the ideas themselves. I also believe that visualization is the most important tool in grasping microeconomic concepts, so I strongly emphasize the use of graphing in problem solving.
