I have a socratic teaching style in which I collaborate with the student to approach understanding the material in a stepwise, logical manner. I usually start with some background material, and then work on practice problems, progressing in difficulty as the student increases in their understanding. For a subject like Organic Chemistry, which is very structure-based, I believe very strongly in the use of visual aids, such as molecular model kits, to help with understanding of the material. I am available to tutor first year General Chemistry such as CHEM 121/123, and introductory Organic Chemistry I and II such as CHEM 203 and 233 at UBC, and also Organic Chemistry prep for the MCAT exam.
