About Forest

I am an ex-student from Florida International University. I started my education there as an International Business Major before switching majors to Anthropology and Interdisciplinary Studies.

My journey into tutoring began when I was in elementary school, helping students around me understand concepts that came easily to me. In high school, I was already bringing up students whole letter grades in their classes. It was during my gap year in college that I began working at Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes and learned how to better utilize my time in fast-paced settings. From there, I have gone to different companies and tried different settings.

About the lesson

As a tutor, my main method is to begin where the misunderstanding is most evident. From there, I along with the student, dig to find the root cause of confusion. From there, we build fundamentals. I check in frequently and utilize positive reinforcement and Sensory-Cognitive methods.

While I mostly do classroom aiding or homework help, I am also comfortable acquiring the students' understanding of where they are lacking understanding and creating a curriculum.

My specialties lie within the compulsory school umbrella (Pre-K to High School) but I can help in areas such as English in College, College Algebra, and some Business classes in college.
