About Luiza
My name is Luiza and I live in Southampton . I've just finished my IB exams and am currently on a gap year with a secured place in the University of Southampton for a BA in English and History.
I've tutored fellow classmates as well as year 11 students in my school, in the areas of English, Portuguese and History. As well as academic subjects, I'm also really good at languages (I am fluent in Brazilian Portuguese) and I'm currently helping an author to translate her book into English. My skills with English literature and creative writing were further explored through the programme "First Story" via which I am now a published author, having three of my short stories being featured in their anthology. Thus, not only do I have analytical skills in History and English, but I am also skilled at creative writing and know what makes a good piece.

My teaching methods are based on what worked better for me as a student and is also heavily influenced by what my students tell me they need. I start by looking at the mark schemes and other documents that display the skills the student needs to succeed in said topic. I then condense the topic to its core points (to facilitate later revision) and expand on the points in lesson with the student. I will also provide you with worksheets, revision cards, share slide shows and other things you deem useful.
