Tutoring can be face to face, in purpose-built premises, or online. My years as an examiner gave me insight into what examiners expect to see in a good exam answer. Therefore, tutoring will not only be content and theory; it will also focus on examination technique and how to put students' knowledge in a structure that allows students to get the highest marks in the shortest time, as time management is key. Students can have all the knowledge in the world, but if they can't structure a question in the allocated time, they will not be able to get the highest grades. Lessons are for 1 hour and relate key theories to the real world and students' interests. This allows students to find it easier to understand what is being asked of them, enabling them to write answers from their understanding and knowledge rather than trying to remember theories. I have over 20 years' experience in education as an Examiner, Head of Department, Year Head, BTEC - Co-ordinator and Teacher of GCSE, A-level and Applied courses, in the following exam boards: CCEA, EDEXCEL, AQA, IGCSE, IB, WJEC, BTEC, OCN. I am also an entrepreneur and bring this real-life experience into the lessons I teach. My strength is the rapport I build with my students. They enjoy my lessons and want to learn, which results in amazing results. As I believe if you have their heart, you have their head.
