About Trevor
- What kind of experience do you have? I have taught English to a wide range of students at all levels in the UK, Spain and France for the last 15 years, online, in university, in the classroom and one to one. I have also taught Business English at St Andrews University Scotland, currently rated the third best university in the UK after Oxford and Cambridge. I have taught the UAE Navy general and maritime English. I have taught students from the UK Government Home Office. I have taught students from virtually every country in the world and understand the differing challenges learning English can bring. Prior to teaching I had a successful business career. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? I am DBS certified for a volunteer role I undertake. - Where and with whom did you train? I trained at Brighton University, Brighton City College and Northbrook College. - Do you belong to any professional organisations? I am an experienced and supportive English teacher who teaches General and Business English. I also teach English pronunciation skills, CV Writing and Interview skills. I generally teach online, I find this method very flexible and suitable for both the student and the tutor. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach general and business English to adults and teenagers whose first language is not English. This includes English for work, business, university, study and to live in an English speaking country. I teach students to pass a wide range of examinations, Cambridge FCE, CAE, CPE, IELTS, TOEIC and TOEFL. I support university students with their work when writing essays, proofread. I support students of all ages in developing their fluency, with accent reduction and English pronunciation skills for your work, public speaking, interviews and conversation. - Tell me about your qualifications. I graduated from Brighton University with a graduate diploma, a PGCE and a TESOL certificate. Prior to becoming a teacher I had a successful career in business and I have a wide range of business qualifications. - How much do you charge? I give a free assessment to discuss your needs and requirements and then charge £25 an hour. - Where do you teach? I predominantly teach online using Skype or Teams and I find it is very effective in helping students develop their skills from their home without travelling. - When are you available? I am very flexible and can be available most days and times including weekends and evenings. - Which ages and levels do you teach? I teach adults and teenagers. - Which qualifications do you prepare your students for? I will help you prepare for a wide range of English qualifications including all Cambridge examinations, IELTS, TOEIC and TOEFL. - Describe your arrangements for online tutoring. I predominantly teach online using Skype, Teams and other associated software. I will use online documents to avoid you having to write copious notes. - Do you have a personal message for students? If you decide to take lessons with me you will find I am very supportive in helping you meet your aims.

Perfect! Very prompt respond, helpful
- Zusie and I had a call, she wants help with her pronunciation. We discussed her needs and requirements, she was well aware of the techniques behind changing her accent and she requires someone to listen to her and give feedback. She said she would contact me when she requires some help in the future.Trevor's response :
Perfect! Trevor has worked with me on accent reduction. I am a fluent speaker so the work he needed to do was very subtle, since my mistakes were not always that obvious.
He was patient, kind, clear, and overall very professional. He was very helpful during the lesson and also sent me a lot of materials afterwards to help me prepare better.
I enjoyed working with him and will schedule other lessons with him in the future.- It was great discussing Mara’s needs and requirements with her. She is highly motivated to develop her English pronunciation skills and she seemed very pleased with the help I gave her. She may have another lesson.Trevor's response :
