About Robert
Rob Hetherington started to play the guitar at age 13 years. At 16 he won a scholarship to The Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto. Rob studied with famous Norbert Kraft, Bob Hamilton, and Eli Kassner. Rob also studied with Mark Delpriora in NYC before graduating in 2004. Rob is a passionate teacher and has taught at several schools including The Westchester Conservatory and The Dorian School of Music. While living in New York he had the honor of working with Todd Williams, Emmy winner John Wineglass, and film composer Mario Grigorov. Rob has been actively teaching and composing music since 2004. His many teaching styles include classical, jazz, blues, rock, and pop.

I am well grounded and teach The Royal Conservatory of Music Classical Guitar Repertoire Series. I also teach the Aaron Shearer Method. I also teach Jazz, Rock, and Blues guitar. A typical lesson will involve teaching a piece that is level appropriate... which first usually addresses any new information or techniques... then left and right hand fingering. Correct notation also comes into play as we proceed through the piece. Later in the lesson, we will work on technical requirements such as scales or arpeggios, etc. I believe my warmth as a person and my ability to put people at ease is important. My sense of humor is well received too. My experience and expertise are important... to ensure the student develops correctly! This particular lesson is designed for an aspiring classical guitarist.
