About Milo
I believe what I can bring to language tutoring sessions is not only prior tutoring experience, but also a lifelong, first-hand engagement with language learning itself. I attended a French school from the age of four, where half of my subjects were taught in French, and I graduated with the Baccalauréat Français with the highest distinction (Très Bien, 17/20 average). At our graduation ceremony, I was chosen by my 120 peers to deliver the final speech in both French and Spanish. In addition, I studied English at a private institution from the age of eight until I moved to London at 18. For my UK university applications, I took the IELTS exam and received a score of 8.5 out of 9. Alongside my Literature degree at UCL, I’m studying Portuguese, in which I’ve consistently ranked among the top three students in my class. In fact, I'm currently on my year abroad in Brazil, strengthening my Portuguese every day. Teaching and education is genuinely what I want to pursue in life, and tutoring represents my first official step into that path.

I've been teaching French with a tutoring agency called Love Learning Tutors in London for about nine months now. I have mainly had students aged 9-17 looking to improve their language skills for UK national exams (GCSEs and A Levels), but I have also taught, privately, to adults who were looking to gain proficiency in French. Mostly, I focus on communicative learning -- this means learning grammar and syntax rules through speaking rather than memorising verb by verb, which can become tedious very quickly. I tailor my lessons to each student and really try to make them as fun as possible and they last around an hour, but I'm always flexible about that. Lessons are for any level and any age.
