About Jesse
I can remember as a little kid reading anything I could get my hands on – from novels to menus! I'm still that kid in a lot of ways. Understanding the world we live in is deeply important to me, and it's what inspires me: not just as a teacher, but as someone who believes in teaching myself. I've always loved theater because it's at its best when it's about asking questions – and that's why I love watching movies, too. I'd love to chat with you about your favorites!
At the end of the day, I'd describe myself as someone who believes that there's always something more to learn. I'm always trying to learn as much as I can about as much as I can – and I want to help you, too, with whatever you're curious about!

A tutoring session with me is about you! I'll always start by asking you what you need, and we'll go from there! As a literature student, I especially enjoy helping you really understand something you're reading, but I'm able to help with just about anything. Maybe you need help coming up with an argument, help editing or revising an argument you already have – I'll happily be there to help you out, any and every step of the way.
My job is to help you build the strong foundation you'll need to succeed, and although my tutoring is mainly tailored for middle school and high school English, the good habits I'll help you learn will serve you well on APs, on the SAT, in college – and beyond! If you know how to write well, you can communicate well – and if you can communicate well, you can do anything.
