I started taking lessons with Ian about 4 years ago now as a complete beginner. He was a referral from a friend of mine whose daughter was also having lessons from him.
From lesson 1, I found him to be a very patient and encouraging teacher. He adapts to my challenges and shows me different techniques to get through a tough part of a piece.
He’s always positive about my progress which I really appreciate.
When I started, I could read music already so that made life easier. I started with classical but switched to acoustic after about a year or so and I enjoy that a lot more.
Ian knows a lot of fun facts about famous guitarists which adds a fun dimension to the lessons.
I would recommend Ian to anyone who wants to learn guitar from scratch or otherwise.
