About Maryke
I conduct well-planned out and creative lessons that facilitate engaging and fun activities to help you learn and understand the material you struggle with. Afrikaans is my home language and I am also a fully qualified English tutor. I know the work you do in school can be tough. Transitioning to the next grade can create a steep learning curve and it can be easy to fall behind. I have made it my mission to help kids who struggle by creating a comfortable and safe environment. I want to make a difference in your life, both academically, and personally, if you allow me the opportunity.

I offer tutoring sessions for Afrikaans Grade 1 - 7. I employ an enthusiastic and caring approach to reach and motivate students. I can identify students' weaknesses to determine the most useful tools to facilitate learning. I guide students in the aforementioned subjects by reviewing their class notes and materials. I model lessons for daily or weekly instruction. I evaluate students' progress through analysis of homework completion and test scores. I plan lessons for the allotted time to strengthen weak subjects and build skills. I use positive reinforcement, repetition, and review to help students master challenging material. I demonstrate reliability by attending scheduled sessions and communicating in advance of cancellations. I conduct in-person, online, and instant tutor appointment options to accommodate student schedules. I can assist children in achieving a better understanding of specific subject material. I communicate directly with parents to achieve success for their children. I can provide appropriate learning materials for students. I assess students' progress throughout tutoring sessions and adjust instructional methods and content focus accordingly. I maintain updated academic progress records in Excel. I use various instructional techniques to help students learn new or difficult concepts. I design engaging lessons, using art and visual aids to enhance the learning process.

Details
1. Payment is due within 7 days from receipt of invoice. 2. Cancellations within less than 24 hours will be charged (except in cases of emergency). 3. There is a grace period of 10 minutes after the lesson start time to sort out any possible technical issues. Any later than 10 minutes, the lesson will stop at the prearranged time and will be charged in full. 4. Alternative arrangements for extra time allocation to finish the lesson can be made and will be charged at R25 per 15 minutes, subject to the availability of the tutor.
