About Massimo
I'm a freelance game developer who's been working on games for the past 5 years. I mainly have experience with coding, design, and writing, but I'm still fairly knowledgeable about all aspects of game development. I'm currently the lead programmer at indie studio Summitsphere, and we've recently shipped our first game to critical acclaim!
In terms of tools, I am mainly familiar Game Maker: Studio 2, as well as Unity (C#)
I have some experience doing programming tutoring for classmates in college, and all 2 of them seemed really satisfied so I'm probably quite good at this.

My lessons are aimed at beginner programmers (children included) or programmers with a little experience who are new to game development and interested in learning a specific tool. Or people who *really* want to learn about Game Maker for some reason. Note that I'm not limited to teaching game programming, if you just want to learn some basic coding skills that are practical everywhere I can help with that too.
Typically I'll ask you what you're specifically interested in learning or achieving, then focus on quickly getting you to a point where you can build something you're happy with. If you're already building something and you want help with it, we'll work on that. No matter what, we'll be working directly with the necessary tools. I'll be there to prevent you from being overwhelmed, assigning tasks that build on your existing knowledge, correcting bad habits, filling gaps in knowledge, and providing recommendations for what to do in case you get stuck.
I want students to become self-sufficient, so I'll always be sharing my thought-process for problem solving and I'll try to give you the tools necessary to solve things on your own.
I'll be working with you throughout the whole process to help you achieve what you want in ways that work for *you*. I'm always open to making changes, I want learning to be a personalized collaborative process that helps you efficiently reach your goals.

My company was on the brink of collapse and I had laid off my top designer but then Massimo burst into my office and he had fixed the glitches in a day that those other guys couldn't fix in a week so I put him in charge on the spot and it was totally a "real gamer" moment. The project still failed due to an unrelated darkest hour moment but Massimo was great he really got my employees to believe in themselves, and maybe, just maybe, they taught him a little something too. Probably some generic lesson about friendship or coming out of your shell or respecting people or something.
Massimo's a pretty trustworthy guy. Definitely not someone who would write a recommendation for themselves using a VPN to game a poorly thought out algorithm.
