About Leanne
I'm a WSU postgraduate student majoring in TESOL. Prior to teaching, I completed an undergraduate degree in Social Science (Humanitarian).
I have 2 years of teaching experience (both informal and formal). I have prior experience in tutoring 1-on-1 private lessons as a freelance language tutor since 2019. I also have taught the beginner ESL classes at MTC Australia as a student-teacher for my TESOL practicum. Therefore, I can tutor any types of learners (whether you're a newly arrived migrant, international student, tourist or language enthusiast). I'll take your learning needs/goals into consideration and provide the best lesson for you.

My teaching methodologies are a combination of audio-lingual, communicative language teaching (CLT) and task-based learning (TBL).
My lessons will primarily focus on teaching ESL learners conversational English through reading, writing, listening and speaking. Task-based activities will comprise of enacting role plays (scripted), initiating short conversations (unscripted) and reading short text passages.
Lessons will be tailored to meet each learner's individual needs. Learners will have the comfort to learn without feeling like they are in a formal classroom setting or restricted to only textbooks and worksheet handouts. Learning with me will be fun and not boring! :)
