About Shashikala Devi
I have 15+ years of experience working as a Head of Project Management Office in the financial services industry - at the same time I also have around 5+ years of experience giving home tutoring to young students in my neighbourhood.
I love tutoring because it's so fulfilling to watch students reach their highest potential and to be part of that journey. I have always found it satisfying to build a connection with students who strive for self-improvement and authentic learning. This is why my philosophy for tutoring goes beyond simply grades and exams - I want to help students understand the purpose of what they learn.

I'm highly flexible as an instructor so I prefer students to tell me the session lengths that work for them - though I find shorter but more frequent sessions to be more effective than long sessions once a week.
Every student is different, so I prefer a tailored approach to tutoring. My journey with each student follows this process:
1 -Start by understanding their goals for the subject (to fix a specific area vs to improve overall across the subject)
2 - Understand their current strengths and weaknesses
3 - Understand what helps them learn best (discussions, time-based tasks, reviews and analysis, etc.)
4 - Conduct lessons with original material prepared by me, as well as revising what was taught at school, and drawing links between the two
