About Patrick
As stated above, I have taught for over 25 years, and every position has involved a commitment to extensive tutoring of students, both in groups and one to one. During my time as Team Leader and Co-ordinator of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, students came from countries such as Africa, India, Nepal, Slovenia, Russia, Sweden, France, Spain, Germany, and the local community. They went on to study at some of the most prestigious universities in the world, including Oxford, Cambridge, The International College at Bremen, Harvard, Yale, Berea College, Pennsylvania University, Princeton, Randolph Mason, Weslyan College, Connecticut College and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
My Access students went on to study at universities in the UK, such as Oxford Brookes, Coventry, Birmingham, Plymouth, Southampton, Warwick and Durham.

I have had a very varied teaching career, working with students of all ages ( from primary to adult) abilities and ethnic backgrounds, in both the UK and overseas. I have also worked with students who have Special Educational needs, whether their issues are emotional, physical or both. My very varied experience has ensured that I am extremely adaptable, and able to quickly strike a rapport with students in any situation or changing circumstances. I have had extensive experience of one to one and group tutoring, and understand fully the importance of relating to and assessing students as individuals, creating learning plans specifically tailored to their needs, whilst having the flexibilty to adjust the plan.

I have taken various leadership positions such as Head of Department for Psychology and Team Leader/
Co-ordinator for International Baccalaureate, but have always taken care to positioned myself alongside students, preferring to actually teach rather than move into Management. My experience covers Primary (Key Stage 2), Secondary GCSE and A level (Key stages 3,4 and 5), Access to HE in FE (Key Stage 5/6) and the challenging International Baccalaureate I have a Cert TEFLA, (Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Adults) and have privately tutored overseas Master students, enabling them to write their theses in English.
