About Carly
I am a certified B.C. teacher who holds two Bachelor's degrees and two Certificates. Before being trained as a teacher, I acquired countless hours of experience in the field of Outdoor Education. Learning and teaching in nature has provided me with the invaluable skills necessary to teach soft skills such as self-knowing, communication and reflection, as well as hard skills which are associated with academic ability. Since becoming a teacher, I have made numerous significant relationships with past students. My passion is helping students discover their true purpose and potential. I firmly believe that everyone is capable of achieving anything they set their mind to, and I am looking forward to hopefully assisting you through this journey of self-discovery.

My contribution to this platform has two layers. Firstly, I use tested and progressive educational methods that are incredibly effective tools for guiding and teaching. These involve experiential, place-based philosophies that I connect to one's own personal experience of life. Learning material through these connections solidifies the student's knowledge and empowers them to take ownership over their own learning. The second layer is my ability to build honest, communicative and caring relationships with my students. I possess qualities such as empathy, patience and kindness which make for an effortless exchange of ideas, thoughts and learning!
