About Joaquin
I have 11 years of experience as a Spanish teacher. After completing my degree in comparative literature, I received a scholarship to study literature in Boston, where I started working as instructor of Spanish at Boston College. I continued teaching at the university level while completing my Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies at the University of Pennsylvania until my graduation. This past year I have worked as a Spanish teacher in a high school in Los Angeles.

In my classes I use the communicative approach, which allows students to start doing things in Spanish from the very beginning. I also use videos, texts, games, songs to practice the different forms of communication. I like to use the culture of both Spain and Latin America to introduce and deepen the content.
