About Zoe
With 6 years of piano teaching experience and nearly 300 students taught, I provide lessons that are structured, personalised, and engaging for high school students, college learners, and adults. I help students strengthen technical skills, build musicality, and develop performance confidence.
My teaching philosophy emphasises discipline, consistency, and expressive playing, focusing on posture, hand coordination, finger independence, scales, chord transitions, rhythm, sight-reading, and musical phrasing.
I adapt each lesson to the student’s pace and goals, balancing technique, repertoire, and theory, while providing guidance for effective home practice. Many students have performed successfully in recitals, school concerts, and competitions, while others have achieved high distinctions in graded examinations.
My aim is to create a motivating, supportive, and inspiring environment where students feel confident, challenged, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

My piano teaching approach is designed to inspire confidence, discipline, and creativity through personalisation, flexibility, collaboration, and positivity. I begin by assessing each student’s abilities, interests, and long-term goals. Based on this understanding, I create customised lesson plans that balance technical training with musical enjoyment.
I emphasise proper posture, relaxed technique, rhythm accuracy, hand coordination, expressive dynamics, and confident performance skills.
I provide clear demonstrations and structured exercises while remaining flexible enough to adjust lessons as students grow. Collaboration keeps students engaged, as they take part in setting milestones and tracking progress. I foster a supportive learning environment where mistakes are treated as opportunities for improvement.
In addition to piano instruction, I teach music theory, ear training, keyboard harmony, sight-reading, and basic composition to help students become independent, well-rounded, and passionate musicians.
