About Nova
I am a passionate pianist and teacher who believes that the piano is the ultimate instrument for musical expression. I love sharing the intricacies of the keyboard with my students and watching them unlock their musical potential. My teaching style is warm and structured, designed to make complex musical concepts easy to understand. I have a background in performance and accompaniment, which gives me a broad perspective on what it means to be a pianist.
I specialise in helping students of all ages, from young beginners to adults returning to the instrument. I have guided many learners through grade exams and personal milestones, always prioritising their love for the music. We will work together to cultivate your technique and musicality, ensuring that playing the piano becomes a source of joy and relaxation for you. I am here to be your mentor and partner in music.

From the very first lesson, we will work on reading the grand staff, ensuring that you become a literate musician capable of exploring new music independently. My lessons are balanced between technical drills—like scales and arpeggios—and the study of repertoire that excites you.
We will meticulously cover the art of interpretation, learning how to use dynamics, articulation, and phrasing to bring a piece of sheet music to life. I place a strong emphasis on rhythm and coordination, helping you master the challenge of playing different things with each hand. Through the exploration of various genres, from Bach to modern pop, we will develop your versatility and musical ear. I customise the difficulty of our pieces to ensure you are constantly challenged but never discouraged.
I am committed to supporting students through the plateau phases of learning, providing practice strategies that maximise your time at the keys. We will work on memorisation techniques and performance skills, preparing you to play for others with confidence. By fostering a creative and patient environment, I encourage you to listen deeply to the sound you are producing. My goal is to give you the skills to sit down at any piano and express yourself through music.
