About Edward
With 8 years of drumming experience and a Master’s in Percussion Studies, I bring professional insight to every lesson. I started teaching while completing my degree and quickly discovered how rewarding it is. My goal is to make drumming accessible and enjoyable for all. I focus heavily on rhythm, technique, and musical expression. Students learn how to play cleanly, confidently, and creatively. I’ve worked with beginners, hobbyists, and advanced drummers. My lessons blend structure with flexibility so you can progress at your pace. I encourage students to ask questions and explore their musical interests. We incorporate different styles, including rock, jazz, funk, and Latin. You’ll also learn how to read drum notation and understand musical form. I emphasise consistency and positive learning habits. Many of my students have gone on to join school bands or local groups. I truly enjoy celebrating your progress along the way. Each lesson is designed to build both skill and self-confidence. My drum lessons are designed to be fun, interactive, and engaging while still building strong technical skills and musical understanding. Whether you’re a beginner picking up your first sticks or an experienced drummer looking to refine your technique, each lesson is tailored to your goals and interests. We cover fundamentals such as timing, hand independence, stick control, coordination, groove, and rhythm reading, while also exploring creative exercises, improvisation, and songs you love. I provide clear practice routines, tips for improving efficiently, and guidance to help you overcome challenges and track your progress. Lessons are structured but playful, encouraging students to experiment, explore their creativity, and develop their unique style. I focus on building confidence, musicality, and expressive performance skills in a positive and supportive environment. Students learn to play independently and in ensembles, developing listening skills, timing, and rhythm awareness. Each lesson celebrates growth and progress, making learning both exciting and rewarding. Drumming is not just about technique—it’s a way to express yourself, release energy, and connect with music. By combining structure, creativity, and fun, my lessons inspire students to develop discipline, skill, and a lifelong love for drumming.
