About Catherine
I hold a Bachelor of Music in performance and composition (with First Class Honours) from the University of Western Sydney, and also have 20+ years experience in jazz/blues, rock/pop and also classical double bass as a gigging, touring and recording musician. My work as a private music teacher for the past 10 years has been varied. I have taught one-on-one lessons to school-aged children working on HSC music, AMEB grades and more. I have also taught adult students seeking to further develop their skills on bass guitar/double bass or who are taking up their first musical instrument.

I cater to the goals of the students to design meaningful private lessons. I draw upon my experience and studies (university and AMEB) to help students work towards grades, develop performance technique, ensemble skills, sight reading, improvisation skills, and composition/songwriting skills. I seek to inspire students with a passion for music. I also seek to give students a thorough knowledge of the building blocks of music, no matter how great or small their goals in music are.
