About Gregory
I am a passionate violin tutor with more than 7 years of experience, mainly teaching college students. I enjoy helping students learn violin in a structured, positive, and goal-oriented way. My teaching approach is based on creativity, mentorship, and accountability. I focus on strong violin fundamentals such as correct posture, bow control, finger accuracy, rhythm, and tone quality.
I also help students understand musical phrasing and expression. I use innovative teaching methods like step-by-step practice routines, slow practice techniques, guided listening, and performance simulations. These methods help students practice effectively and avoid common mistakes. I also include basic music theory and sight-reading in lessons. Accountability is very important in my teaching.
I help students set clear goals, maintain consistent practice habits, and track progress. I provide constructive and encouraging feedback. In addition to violin, I can also teach rhythm exercises, ear training, and performance skills. My lessons are supportive, well-structured, and suitable for college students. Creativity helps students enjoy learning. I encourage expressive playing, sound exploration, and musical interpretation to develop confidence and musical feeling.
As a critical thinker and mentor, I explain violin techniques in simple language. I guide students through posture, bow control, fingering, rhythm, and intonation. Students are encouraged to listen carefully and improve through self-correction.
Accountability is an important part of my approach. I set clear learning goals and provide structured practice plans. Regular feedback helps students stay focused and disciplined.
In addition to violin, I also teach music theory, rhythm counting, ear training, sight-reading, and performance skills. My aim is to help students become confident, responsible, and expressive musicians.
