About Estelle
I am a second-year Mathematics student at King’s College London with experience tutoring several A-level students. Although I do not hold formal teaching qualifications, my background in university-level mathematics and my hands-on tutoring experience have equipped me with the skills to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt my approach to different learning styles. I am patient, approachable, and committed to helping students gain confidence as well as achieve strong results. My previous students have all shown clear progress, with most improving by at least one grade. I aim not only to support students in mastering exam techniques, but also to help them develop a genuine understanding and appreciation of mathematics.

I focus on building a strong understanding of core mathematical concepts before moving on to more advanced problem-solving. In my lessons, I encourage students to explain their reasoning, and sometimes I ask them to approach a question as if they were the tutor. This method helps them fully understand the logic behind each step. I also try to make my lessons engaging. Occasionally, I include small games or activities to spark students’ interest in Maths, rather than focusing only on questions and concepts. A typical lesson lasts 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the student’s needs. I usually begin with a brief review of previously covered material, followed by an explanation of new topics, and then plenty of guided practice. Towards the end of the class, I like to include exam-style questions to help students apply what they’ve learnt and prepare for assessments. I have taught several students before, and all of them have made clear progress, usually improving by at least one grade.
