About Jasneh

Hello! I'm Jasneh, a student at the University of Washington. As a student who excelled in AP English subjects such as AP Research, AP Seminar, AP Language and AP Literature in high school, I can provide specific testing strategies and information regarding the rigor of AP classes. I have also been an internationally awarded journalist who has written in various different styles regarding various subjects. Typically, these experiences allow for me to interact with a wide range of writings and teach successful study strategies for a variety of classes.

I want to provide students with an avenue to excel in higher-level honors or AP classes. I provide test prep suggestions as well as tips and strategies to be able to write efficiently and coherently on all literature/rhetoric exams.

About the lesson

Hi! As a tutor, I find that the method that works best for me is a structured lesson plan and using active study techniques such as active recall and spaced repetition when teaching my students. A typical lesson plan for a one-hour session would consist of the following: 10-15 minutes spent on homework corrections/questions, 30 minutes on new material, and 10 minutes using active recall strategies to synthesize all the information the student has learned in the unit thus far.

I also assign students a short homework assignment or review guide to ensure that the information being learned is retained throughout the week so we can maximize our class time learning new materials.

As a student who excelled in AP English subjects such as AP Research, AP Seminar, AP Language and AP Literature in high school, I can provide specific testing strategies and information regarding the rigor of AP classes.
