About Gearard
Hi, I'm Gearard!
I believe that lessons must feel rewarding and enjoyable in order for effective learning, so I tailor to the student's musical tastes and targets above all else. I want to avoid creating a strict and uninspiring environment, as I have found that for many developing musicians, this can prevent any enthusiasm and desire to learn.
If a student is playing music that they love and that inspires them, the skill and learning comes very easily.
With that being said, I also aim to effectively improve the musical technique and knowledge of the student, offering lessons which focus on music theory, production and performance.
Having taught both electric and bass guitar at beginner level and also volunteered as a leader of youth groups in the past, I am approachable and able to interact with young people. However, my lessons are for all ages, as it is never too late to pick up an instrument, and it can improve the lives of anyone, at any age.

I like to target teaching towards the desires of the student wherever possible to provide a sense of achievement and enjoyment.
I aim to create a supportive atmosphere with clear directions and steady development, communicating with the student over how they are coping with the pace of the teaching.
I have some limited experience in teaching both guitar and bass guitar, have a GSCE in music, which includes knowledge on theory and production, and have performed in paid gigs for a number of years.
Due to limited teaching experience, prices are negotiable.
Lessons are for all ages, at beginner and intermediate levels. GCSE preparation is also available.

Perfect! Gearard really listens and takes it at whatever pace you need, it's all geared towards your interests to really engage you and he's a really friendly guy too! Makes you feel really comfortable during the lesson regardless of your skill level
