Student at the IU Kelley School of Business (4.0 GPA) and Mother of three boys (10, 12, and 13). My 12 year old has severe ADHD. So, I am not easily discouraged by less than enthusiastic learners.

About Lisa
I am a Business major at the IU Kelley School of Business. I am in my junior year and maintain a 4.0 GPA. I also have three teenage boys, (who do not share my love for academics) that I tutor on a regular basis.
I have over 5 years of experience as a student mentor and tutor at college and high school levels.

I first take the time to understand each lesson in terms of specific teacher requirements . After that my approach differs depending on the student. I can usually identify what works by having the student walk me through the assignment/problem in order to determine where they run into difficulty. Rather than tell them how to do something, I prefer to ask questions meant to guide them through their own learning process. In the event that a student doesn't know where to start, I find creating a numbered step pattern of approach helps to simplify the task and initiate the learning process.
