About Abigail
I am an enthusiastic and friendly sixth form student who previously achieved grades 8 and 9's across all my subjects, and would love to help others through what I have very recently experienced. During my time at school I would often takeover lessons, and help other students struggling in subject areas, by re-explaining concepts and offering my unique advice. As well as that, I would participate in many sports teams, which helped me further develop my capability of working with others, and lead many events such as dance competitions, which helped me advance my leadership skills. My aim is to use my past experiences, such as what worked for me, and what my friends said worked for them, to help further expand knowledge of a subject a student may be struggling on, and help them develop understanding in the best way possible, so they are able to achieve the highest grades they can. Whilst doing that, It is also important to me that lessons are fun and lively for my students, and that I also build an open and honest relationship with them, in which they feel free to address any struggles they are having to me.

I first start a conversation with my students, and ask them how they are doing in general, in order to set a calm and relaxed feel to the lesson. I then set them a some starter questions, on work they may have done the previous week to test to see whether they have retained the knowledge or whether i need to go over it further. Then I will teach them a lesson about a certain area of the subject and end with some question practise. This is the point where we go over exam technique and also where I can see whether they have been able to learn and apply the knowledge I have taught them.
