About Stephany
Hi, I’m Stephany! I’m an English, writing, and creative-writing tutor for students in grades K–8. I’m passionate about helping students build confidence in reading, writing, grammar, spelling, and communicating their ideas clearly.
I have experience teaching writing, creative writing, and grammar through online tutoring, including supporting students who were learning English as a second language. I also served as a student mentor in high school, where I helped younger students with schoolwork, study habits, and academic confidence.
Outside of tutoring, I work in marketing, where a huge part of my job is using words effectively. Whether I’m writing content, organizing a message, or finding the right way to connect with an audience, I use strong communication skills every day. My background in journalism and design has also taught me how to make ideas clear, organized, creative, and engaging.
As a tutor, I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I believe writing is a skill anyone can improve with practice, guidance, and encouragement. My goal is to help each student become a stronger writer, reader, and communicator while also helping them find their own voice

I create supportive, engaging lessons that help students feel confident—not afraid to make mistakes. I teach English, grammar, spelling, reading comprehension, writing, and creative writing for students in grades K–8, including students who are learning English as a second language.
My teaching approach is personalized and hands-on. I first learn what the student needs help with, how they learn best, and what interests them. Then I explain concepts in clear, simple language and use examples, guided practice, games, short writing activities, reading passages, and creative prompts to make lessons memorable.
A typical lesson may begin with a quick review or warm-up activity, followed by a focused skill such as grammar, spelling, paragraph writing, or reading comprehension. We practice the skill together, then the student completes a short activity independently so I can see their progress. I end each lesson with positive feedback, a recap, and a small goal for next time.
What sets me apart is my background in journalism and design, which helps me make writing organized, creative, and approachable. I have experience teaching writing, creative writing, and grammar online, including helping ESL learners strengthen their English. My goal is not only to improve grades, but to help students find their voice and become confident communicators.
