About Andrea
My name is Andrea, and I'm a PhD student in statistics at UW. Before coming to UW, I studied mathematics and statistics at Amherst College with extensive coursework in computer science. My first teaching role was TAing the introductory and intermediate statistics courses at Amherst during my sophomore year. Since then, I've TA'd a data science course, tutored middle schoolers in algebra, and taught quiz sections at UW. I will even be teaching an undergraduate course this summer!

In a typical lesson, we will discuss whatever you want! If you need help on homework, we'll work through it, and I will give you techniques and step-by-step instructions to work through similar problems in the future. If you don't understand the way I present something, I will use analogies, different visualizations (I always use them in general), and examples to make sure you come away from the lesson with an in-depth understanding of concepts.
I'm bubbly and passionate about teaching, so I can guarantee you won't be bored in my sessions - the time will be up before you know it! I welcome students of all ages - I've worked with middle school students, high school students, college students, and adults in the past.
