About Alex
I am currently pursuing a BSc Statistics, Economics and Finance at University College London.
I achieved grade A* in my Mathematics GCSE, A-level and Further Mathematics A-level. The latter two I taught to myself and sat the examinations at the end of Year 11.
At school, I founded an Olympiad Mathematics Society where I taught other students advanced mathematics and ran multiple problem-solving sessions a week. I also trained teams of 4 students for the Teams Maths Challenge that won the regional finals in 2025 and 2026, and participated in the national finals.
I achieved the highest score in Wales in the British Mathematical Olympiad in 2023/24 and 2024/25 and participated in the finals round both times (one of 100 participants in the country).
I was selected by the UKMT for further training at their 2024 Oxford Summer School, where I won a rapid-fire competition in a group of 4.

Regular sessions between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours. There is a strong focus on problem-solving with plenty of take-home practice. We can catch up on schoolwork, prepare for exams or explore more advanced topics that will be useful for competitions like the UKMT's Maths Challenges and the British Mathematical Olympiad.
