About Chloe
I have had many incredible opportunities to learn and grow as a pianist, singer, composer, conductor, and educator. Through my studies, I have had the pleasure of working with world-class ensembles including the Vancouver Chamber (Vancouver), Canadian Chamber Choir (Vancouver/Abbotsford), Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (Winnipeg), Dead of Winter (Winnipeg), Vanguard Jazz Orchestra (Philadelphia), Lincoln Center House Band (New York), Manitoba Underground Opera (Winnipeg), and Primetime Big Band (Calgary), and have appeared on two Juno-nominated choral albums. I’ve toured extensively with choirs and jazz bands, with international travel to the U.S., France, Spain, U.K., Netherlands, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China. I have also performed in nearly every province in Canada, and have worked all over Manitoba, Ontario, B.C., and Alberta in elementary and high school settings teaching vocal health and community building within school choirs. My experience with opera performance has also given me techniques for exploring acting and communication techniques with my students. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a double specialization in Piano and Voice Performance, and a Master's in Music with a focus on Voice Studies from the University of Manitoba.

My teaching philosophy is founded on a desire to find joy and creativity through music. Learning an instrument provides a vehicle for developing an abundance of skills, knowledge, and positive habits. Lessons are tailored to provide a well-rounded education that promotes exploration and healthy study habits, while encouraging personal expression.
For young beginners: Music lessons are a fantastic way to develop fine motor skills, problem solving, goal-oriented planning, confidence, and a positive sense of self-discipline. Focusing on ear training, early music theory, technique, basic composition, and healthy posture can provide the foundation for healthy and happy playing. We explore diverse genres of music, and students are definitely encouraged to bring their own musical ideas, favourite songs, or interests into lessons!
For adults: It is NEVER too late to start! Studying an instrument as an adult has a plethora of benefits, from maintaining hand dexterity to stress reduction. In workplace-driven lifestyles, using music as a form of expression and communication can provide relaxation, increase memory skills, and encourage creativity. Whether you have played before or are just starting, music lessons are a great way to start a new hobby, bring back an old one, or just develop new skills.
