About Gwen
Math shouldn't feel like a stressful guessing game. As a high-achieving peer, I bring structure and relatable mentorship to Grade 4–10 Mathematics. Through customized roadmaps and active discovery, I help students understand what they memorize, define the logic, and build mastery!

I teach using a logic-first, Socratic approach that replaces raw memorization with active critical thinking. We begin with a real-world situation or specific math problem to test current intuition first. From there, I step in to guide the student through the actual proof and the 'why' behind the formula, followed by structured practice to build complete mastery and independence.
Before official classes begin, we use a free orientation to assess the student's unique academic gaps and map out a customized, long-term roadmap. Once sessions start, they follow a highly efficient, 4-step execution plan:
1. The Recall: A quick diagnostic check on previous concepts to ensure zero knowledge decay.
2. The Discovery: Analyzing a situational problem and breaking down the formula's core proof together.
3. Guided Execution: Solving diverse problem variations side-by-side to unpack unique edge cases.
4. Independent Mastery: The student solves an anchor problem alone and explains the logic back to me.
What sets me apart is that I am a high-achieving peer who speaks their language. As a multi-year student leader and an SSC Valedictorian, I know exactly what it takes to excel in today’s classrooms. I bridge the gap between jargon and everyday logic, turning math into a manageable puzzle.
My lessons are designed for Elementary and Junior High School students (Grades 4 to 10). I am fully prepared to help whether they are mastering Basic Arithmetic, navigating the transitions of Algebra and Geometry, or tackling advanced Trigonometry.
