About Alistair
I am a recently graduated high school student who has just achieved AAAAB at SQA Higher this year, and AAAAAB in N5 the year prior. I have a particular affinity for Modern Studies and Music, and as such achieved A's at N5 and Higher for both of these subjects, haven taken them throughout my school career.
I can assist with and help in all areas of the course for National 4 and BGE (S1-S3). For National 5, I can assist and tutor with SBQ (source based questions) including support and oppose, conclusion, objectivity, option/recommendation and reliability questions. I can also assist with the knowledge and understanding portions of the course, in the topics of Democracy in Scotland, Crime and Law, Social Inequality and World Issues (Terrorism). For Higher, I can also assist with SBQs as well as with the knowledge and structure elements of writing 12 and 20 mark essay/extended response questions (Evaluate/Analyse/Discuss/To what extent?). Furthermore I can provide advice and strategies to best help you prepare for the coursework assignment, although for the 2021-2022 exam diet this element has been removed from National 5 and Higher.

Firstly I will sit and chat with the student to get a good idea of what parts of the course you're comfortable with, and which parts you'd like to work more on. From there I can create a plan for the duration of the tutoring to best support you. I prefer to allow you, the student, to lead your learning and try things, making mistakes is natural and I feel it's better to make the mistakes in order to learn from them and see where they came from.
