Singing is a multifaceted art that intertwines vocal technique, emotional communication, and cultural narrative. My teaching philosophy rests on the principles of Foundation, Expression, Diversity, and Perseverance.
Foundation includes building solid breath support, pitch accuracy, tone quality, and vocal flexibility through targeted exercises designed to promote vocal health and stamina. Expression is nurtured by encouraging students to delve into the emotional and lyrical content of songs, using interpretive techniques to create authentic performances that resonate with listeners. Diversity enriches lessons by embracing a wide range of musical genres and cultural traditions, promoting respect and curiosity for the stories behind the music.
I work with students to select repertoire that reflects their backgrounds and artistic goals. Perseverance is essential for growth; I help learners develop consistent practice habits and realistic goals, emphasizing patience and resilience.
