About Lucia
I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Language Teaching and I have completed a graduate diploma in English Phonetics and Phonology, both at Teacher Training College ISP “Dr. Joaquin V. González” in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have also taken courses on Literature, Cultures and Linguistics in Pacific University, Oregon, USA, as part of my Fulbright scholarship.
As far as my experience is concerned, I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language to kids, teenagers and adults for almost 6 years now, in IB and Cambridge certified Spanish-English bilingual schools in the city of Buenos Aires, business companies, and Teacher Training Colleges. I have also lectured and tutored in Phonetics and Phonology, helping students acquire the sounds of the English language as well as the different intonation patterns. Furthermore, I have taught Spanish, my native language, at Pacific University in Oregon, USA, to undergraduate students as part of my duties as a Fulbright Language Teaching Assistant.

My teaching practices as a Language Teacher are based on three main principles: firstly, that the ultimate goal of language learning is communication with both native and non-native speakers of the language. Secondly, that experiencing the language and reflecting upon it through the use of metalinguistic knowledge can be a valuable asset for non-native speakers to develop self-monitoring skills. Finally, that for acquisition to be successful, teaching should be contextualised and the culture interwoven with the target language. These principles have led me to implement different methodologies and techniques when designing my teaching material and planning my lessons.
