你好nǐ hǎo! I am Yanling. I am your best partner on your Chinese learning journey! I am gentle and patient, and I love to laugh, so I'm very approachable and have no communication barriers with either adults or kids. I am very good at teaching students with zero Chinese skills, learning from scratch and progressing slowly. TEACHING STYLE In my opinion, learning a new language fun and motivation are the keys, so I will help you with a variety of easy-to-learn methods. 1. For adults, I am good at using "conversations" to teach Chinese, and creating situational dialogues, integrating students' real-life situations to make learning practical. This way of teaching not only allows you to get more practice and learn more authentic expressions, but also to learn a lot about Chinese culture. This is such a fun and effective way to learn that I am sure you will enjoy. 2. For kids , I am good at using "games" to teach, and get students interested in Chinese and encourage children to speak up. After each lesson, I will give feedback to parents on how their child did in class that day and their follow-up learning plan. 3. I typically have a small chat with students on first class, evaluate their levels reasonably, and tailor course schedules for them. 4️. In addition, I will give stage testing of learning results. It gives you a clear understanding of where you still need to strengthen and where you have made significant progress. In order to help you learn Chinese better, I need as much information as possible about your learning background, so that I can help you choose the best textbook and study materials for you, and making the study plan as well. The details are: ① Have you ever studied Chinese before? If yes, then how long have you been studying? ② Your current Chinese level. Are you able to conduct Chinese conversations? Like going shopping or ordering food? ③ Your learning goals. Do you want to improve listening and speaking? Or do you want to improve reading and writing as well?

Yanling is one of the best teachers I've had. Our lessons range from practicing reading/writing/vocabulary, to learning about contemporary Chinese culture and the history behind famous phrases. Yanling makes learning Chinese fun and cultivates a positive environment to help one realize their potential. I’ve seen tremendous improvements in my Chinese since learning with Yanling and she deserves all the credit for making this happen.
My daughter is taking 150 min lesson a week. She is very patient and kind with my daughter, and well prepared for all lessons. Moreover, she will review with me how my daughter doing at the end of each class. Highly recommend!
