About Sofia
My name is Sofia, and I have spent the last eleven years teaching English, French, Spanish, and German to students of all ages and levels. Languages are not just my profession; they are my passion, and I have dedicated my career to understanding how they connect, contrast, and come alive for each learner.
What makes me effective is my comparative approach. Having taught all four languages for over a decade, I know exactly where students get stuck and how to unstick them. I do not teach in isolation. I show you the patterns, the shortcuts, and the logic that link these languages together, so you learn smarter, not harder.

I'm a fluent speaker of English, French, Spanish, and German, and I teach all four. My method is built on comparative linguistics – I use the language you already know as a launchpad for the new one. Speak Spanish? We’ll use it to unlock French. Speak English? We'll bridge it to German cognates. I combine this with active speaking from day one and an error-friendly environment where mistakes become personalized mini-lessons, not embarrassments.
A typical 60-minute lesson flows like this: a 5-minute conversational warm-up, 15 minutes of focused grammar or vocabulary input, 15 minutes of interactive guided practice, 20 minutes of active speaking or writing on a topic you choose, and a 5-minute wrap-up with one clear takeaway phrase to practise.
What sets me apart is my insider's view of all four languages. I know exactly where students stumble – why English speakers get tangled in German word order, or how French and Spanish subjunctive overlap – and I have ready-made shortcuts to fix them. Every session is tailored to your personal interests, whether that's film, sports, or business.
My lessons suit everyone: middle and high school students; university candidates preparing for Cambridge, DELF, DELE, or Goethe exams; and adult professionals—from absolute beginners (A1) to advanced levels (C1).
Take Sofia, a high schooler who kept mixing up French and Spanish. Instead of teaching them in isolation, I created a custom "comparison map" of their Latin roots and practiced switching between them in fun role-plays. Within three months, Sofia passed her exams with top marks and actually enjoyed speaking both – without fear of confusing them. That clarity is exactly what I deliver for every student.
