• 1) How long have you been interested in the field of well-being and are you practicing?

  When I was a small child, my parents had a cassette tape of Musical Theatre classics (I grew up singing a lot), I would sit in the back of the car and mimic the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand etc. I realised later, when I was studying at Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts that I had as a child, unknowingly, trained my ear to understand vocal quality and more importantly, how to recreate. With those connections, I learnt my voice was one of my strongest assets compared to my peers, I could learn accents with ease, had complete control over my diction, I adjust my voice, project etc. After I graduated, alongside acting roles, I worked in the corporate world where I realised that many people found public speaking deeply anxiety inducing, tripping on their words, mumbling or struggling for breath when presenting...I realised I had the skills and knowledge to help!

• 2) Tell us what your discipline can bring to people's lives?

  Good vocal discipline and confidence with delivering text; whether that be for content creation, delivering a speech or presenting.

• 3) Could you provide some instant top tips to help us feel good in body and mind?

  Unclench your jaw please! Take a nice deep breath through your nose, in for 4, out for 4, repeat for 4. You're welcome!

• 4) How would you describe your method as a practitioner?

  Playful springs to mind. I think learning should be fun!

• 5) With experience, are there things you have learned or unlearned about yourself or others?

  I have learned that performing arts training is transferable all aspects of life and would benefit everyone! Communication, improv, storytelling, self-expression, confidence and empathy are all deeply beneficial skills in the corporate world.

• 6) Do you have a role model, a person who really inspired you?

  Couldn't possibly just pick one! Raye (her vocal range is immense!) Julie Walters & Tilda Swinton for their transformational abilities. And Meryl Streep, of course.

• 7) How do you personally relax; what methods work for you?

  I enjoy an evening run, with a podcast, through the fields of Suffolk.

• 8) Tell us about a memorable lesson

  I really enjoyed a lesson just gone, I have a fantastically well-read student and we explored Sylvia Plath poetry whilst adjusting her accent. It was great fun!
