About Lucia
I am a student at Barnard College at Columbia University studying Spanish and Latin American literature and culture. I grew up in Lima, Perú as a native Spanish speaker and continued studying the language into higher education. I have lots of experience tutoring as well as helping as a Teacher Assistant for high school and college level classes.

As a tutor, I believe in a hands-on, conversational approach for my lessons on all levels. I like to connect with my students through their own interests and foster more natural conversation as well as encouraging a more academic proficiency in the language. I am available to help on assignments and filling in gaps in various different levels, from basic grammar and vocabulary to more advanced academic writing for AP prep/college level. By getting students to genuinely engage, I believe their work will fundamentally improve all the way back to the classroom.
