About Lena
I have 9 years of experience teaching Spanish, holding a B.A in Spanish Linguistics and an M.A in Hispanic Studies. Over the years, I have guided learners from beginners to advanced students, helping them build conversational skills, comprehension, grammatical accuracy, and cultural understanding. My teaching philosophy emphasises interactive learning, consistent practice, and real-world application to cultivate fluency and confidence in every student.
I prioritise patience, creativity, and engagement in lessons. Students are encouraged to participate actively, make mistakes safely, and explore language use in realistic contexts. Lessons incorporate reading, writing, conversation, listening exercises, and cultural exploration to provide a comprehensive language experience.
Outside the classroom, I engage with Spanish literature, media, and contemporary linguistic research to enrich lessons with authentic materials. This approach helps students connect theoretical knowledge with practical communication skills. I design lessons to match the student’s level and objectives. Beginners focus on foundational grammar, common vocabulary, sentence construction, and basic conversational phrases. Intermediate learners expand vocabulary, refine pronunciation, improve comprehension, and engage in structured conversations. Advanced students concentrate on complex grammatical structures, idiomatic expressions, debates, advanced reading, and writing exercises. Personalised feedback, consistent practice, and practical exercises ensure measurable improvement and deeper understanding of the Spanish language.
Studying Spanish enhances both communication skills and cultural literacy.
