About Cole
I hold a B.A in Hispanic Studies and an M.A in Applied Spanish Linguistics, and over the past 9 years, I have dedicated myself to guiding learners through the complexities of the Spanish language while nurturing their confidence and expressive ability. My approach combines structured grammar instruction, vocabulary development, listening and reading comprehension, conversational practice, and cultural immersion to create a well-rounded, engaging, and effective learning experience.
I have worked with students across a wide range of age groups, from young beginners exploring Spanish for the first time to advanced learners preparing for academic studies, professional interactions, or cultural fluency. I emphasize a supportive and patient teaching style, tailoring lessons to each student’s pace, strengths, and goals, while encouraging active participation, curiosity, and risk-taking in language use.
Beyond the classroom, I actively engage with Spanish literature, media, cultural studies, and contemporary developments in linguistics. This allows me to bring authentic examples, nuanced insights, and practical applications into my lessons. Watching students progress from hesitant speakers to confident, fluent communicators is incredibly rewarding. My mission is to equip learners with the language, cultural knowledge, and self-assurance needed to communicate effectively, express themselves creatively, and navigate Spanish-speaking environments with ease and confidence.
