About Emma
Hello, Hola, Ciao, Bonjour, Hallo, 你好, Olá! I am extremely passionate about languages and cultures. I speak fluent Spanish and Italian, intermediate French, and I am learning Mandarin, German, and Portuguese. Thanks to this, I understand what it is like to be a language student so I always try to make my students feel comfortable in the lessons and I provide them with lots of opportunities to practise outside of the lessons. I am from Nottingham, in the UK, which is where I am currently living, but I have travelled a lot and have lived in Spain and Italy for several months. I have a degree in Spanish and Italian and I have been a tutor for almost 3 years. I have a CELTA qualification for teaching English as a foreign language and I apply the teaching techniques to teaching Spanish. I love inspiring my students and helping them become more confident in Spanish.

My lessons are usually 1 hour long and I like to follow a coursebook to give my students some structure and the appropriate language topics for their level. As well as this, I always like to provide my own activities and games to make my lessons interactive and fun. I provide plenty of opportunities for speaking practice to help boost my students’ confidence. I enjoy talking about grammar so I am always happy to focus on any difficult grammar points and explain these in a simpler way for my students. I mainly teach adults online at beginner and pre-intermediate level and I have some experience preparing students for the Spanish GCSE exam.
