About Willa
My passion for Spanish developed through a deep interest in language, culture, and international communication. This enthusiasm inspired me to complete a Bachelor's Degree in Modern Languages before earning a PhD in Hispanic Linguistics. Over the last 6 years, I have helped students strengthen both their language skills and cultural understanding.
I believe language learning should be practical, engaging, and enjoyable. My teaching approach focuses on helping learners gain confidence while developing a strong understanding of how the language works. I enjoy adapting lessons to match each student's needs and aspirations.
Outside teaching, I enjoy studying Hispanic literature, exploring cultural traditions, and participating in language exchange communities. These experiences allow me to bring authentic cultural perspectives into lessons. Helping students achieve fluency and confidence in Spanish continues to inspire me every day.

My Spanish lessons are designed to help students communicate naturally and confidently in real-life situations. We work on vocabulary development, pronunciation improvement, listening comprehension, grammar foundations, sentence construction, and conversational fluency through engaging and practical activities. I encourage active participation so students can use Spanish from the very beginning.
As learners become more comfortable, lessons expand into advanced speaking practice, cultural exploration, reading comprehension, idiomatic expressions, and authentic communication scenarios. Interactive discussions, roleplays, and listening exercises help students apply their knowledge in meaningful ways. Every lesson is personalized to support individual goals and learning preferences.
I create a welcoming environment where learners feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. Confidence develops through consistent practice and supportive guidance. My goal is to help students become capable Spanish speakers who can communicate effectively in a variety of personal and professional situations.
