About Carol
Hi! I'm a tutor with 9 years of experience, working with students from as young as 4 years old up to A-Levels. I believe that learning is not a one-size-fits-all approach—every student is unique, and the best way to learn is the way that suits you. My goal is to create a supportive and engaging environment where students feel comfortable and confident in their abilities.

I have experience with all the UK exam boards for maths and the sciences up to A-level. I have a degree in Chemical Engineering and work full time as a software engineer and so do tutoring because I genuinely enjoy it and not a way to make money! Every time my students call me on results day it makes all the work we both put in throughout the year/2 so worth it! One of the first steps in my lessons is building confidence. I always remind my students that they can and will understand the content—it's just about finding the right approach together. I'm an encouraging tutor who believes that feeling capable is half the battle, and once a student believes they can do it, the rest follows naturally. In terms of teaching methods, I usually start by breaking down topics using PowerPoint presentations to explain concepts in a clear and structured way. Once my students feel comfortable with the material, we go through practice questions to reinforce their understanding. As exams approach, I place a strong focus on past paper practice, making every other lesson about tackling real exam questions to build familiarity and confidence. Whether you need help mastering a tricky subject, preparing for exams, or just want to feel more confident in your learning, I'm here to guide and support you every step of the way!
