About Quinn
As someone with a 7-year academic background following high school, I have taught various age groups on topics spanning nearly the entire spectrum. Math, history, English, and especially Social Sciences fall under my specialties (all types of Psychology, Sociology, Economics, Demography, Politics & Law, Cultural Studies, Organizational Sciences, Communications, Geography, Gender Studies, and more). I have a Master's in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and a BA in Applied Psychology from Penn State University. I can teach research pedagogy and research methods from start to finish. I have worked as a part of numerous nonprofits, government projects, and million-dollar research projects.

I will always want to start by assessing my students' starting knowledge, create a tailored lesson plan, assign reading, including a format where I expect oral or written (essay) responses demonstrating understanding. I aim to create genuinely helpful assessment material. I never rely on multiple choice or quizzing with word banks, instead opting to help pupils truly foster an understanding of the topics. As a graduate teaching assistant with experience working with K-12 students, I take a developmentally appropriate approach to learning, with full knowledge that the needs of a 20-year-old are not nearly the same as those of a middle schooler.
